Meditation & Qi Gong
Seth is teaching Meditation & Qi Gong classes at SBA. Each Saturday morning from 8-9 am, we will practice Zhan Zhaung standing meditation and Yi Chuan Qi Gong. We will also explore the basic body movements of Five Element kung fu.
Similar to some types of yoga, all the exercises will be practiced in stillness or with slow, even movement. The focus of each exercise will be deep breathing and relaxation into the standing postures. These exercises teach us to connect to the earth through our feet and the heavens through our head, as we seek to become circuits between the Yang energy of heaven and the Yin energy of earth.
Classes will be $15 for SBA patients. If you're interested in attending please give us a call, as space is limited.
**Seth is now teaching Qi Gong classes in Eagle River, AK at Mind Body Soul Physical Therapy on Thursdays, 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm. Please call Mind Body Soul Physical Therapy for more information: 907-696-3657.

Sotai
We have just taken a Sotai workshop this past weekend May 15th - 16th 2010 with Bob Quinn, DAOM, LAc. Sotai, developed by Dr. Hashimoto Keizo, is a Japanese style of massage which involves regulated breathing, gentle movements and stretching. This is a great therapy to incorporate into our treatments. Bob Quinn, DAOM, LAc is teaching, practicing, and living in Portland, Oregon. He is one of our favorite mentors, teachers, and supervisors that we had the pleasure of learning from at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. We look forward to seeing him again.
